We are constantly striving to improve the facility & program at Mobile Dragway. I have listed some of the changes for 2010 and some we are still working on.
1. We now use ZERO TRANS FAT cooking oil for all of our fried items. It makes the food taste better & of course it is much better for you.
2. We have added "MILK SHAKES" to the menu. They are made fresh with each order from Blue Bunny ice cream. We have deleted the Deli sandwiches and Grilled Chicken will be prepared as ordered.
3. Bracket 3 once again will be for the Novice racer with a payout of $50 and a Trophy to the Winner. A no entry fee points program will be provided with a Trophy & small cash award to the Winner. We will also run a points program for each Winner, Runner Up & other factors to determine eligibility for 2011.
4. The new Bracket 4 will be be for the more experienced Bkt 3 racer & will be run as a pure FOOTBRAKE class. Bkt 1 & 2 racers will NOT be allowed to double enter into Bkt 4. Entry fee will be $25 with a $10 Buyback. Payout will be 100% payback. Bracket 4 may join the Summit Super Series (SSS) points. We will take the top 40 points leaders to Montgomery for the SSS Team Finals from Brackets 1,2,4 & Juniors. The leaders will qualify by the precent of entries in each class.
5. Bracket 1 & 2 payouts, as always, will be based on number of entries. They are posted under Upcoming Events.
6. We have sanctioned the track under IHRA for too many reasons to list here and after much consideration I deceided it was a no brainer. Most of IHRA benefits are listed elsewhere on the forum.
7. We are installing 17 night lights with a high dollar, 8 camera security system. Thanks Shakey.
8. The IHRA "THUNDER JAM" is coming to Mobile Dragway APRIL 17th with the Worlds Fastest Freightliner, the Cool Bus and SIDE BY SIDE JET CARS. IHRA allowed us (a first at a Thunder Jam) to add a 10.5 Match Race, plus a Fast 4 Dragster Vs. a Fast 4 Door Car Race.
9. We will have "2" Ironman Claaic races. These races will include: Brackets 1,2,3,4, plus M/S & R/S. Dates are April 10th & June 12th.
10. Finall we will sponsor the IHRA Teen Championship Racing series and the University Of South Alabama Drag Racing Club. You also can enroll at South & take "DRAG RACING 101" with Professor Bobby Lankford as your instructor.
We ask you to support your local track in 2010 and lets have a GREAT & SAFE season.
Gary

Are the bracket 1 and 2 points champions getting anything from the track? or just the opportunity to represent at the IHRA division finals? You said bracket three is going to get a trophy and small cash award but nothing about bracket 1 and 2.
thanks

Danny you already know the Lottery and TCI will be part of the Bracket 1 & 2 points. If you read the SSS you saw where the track receives $1,000. This will also be used in our points program. Your asked was the Bkr 1 & 2 getting anything from the track? Are you asking what I am going to take out of my pocket? We are still over a month away from starting points. I am still working on it . I am waiting word from another sponsor for Brt 1 & 2. If you have any questions why dont you just give me a call. 957-3054 G |

| Due to work and financial situations I can't participate much, but as one of the few motorcycle guys on here, I have to ask. I see nothing in any of that about bikes, and I noticed there was no mention of them at IHRA finals. Any story behind that? |

| Just to make sure that everyone is running their car foot-brake like they should be. I feel like last year there might have been some people running a delay box in the "No Box" races. Please understand I was a part of a few circle track teams and we had to go through tech every week. I know there are a lot more rules in those classes but I have been coming to Mobile Dragway for 2 years now and had to ask for the tech guy to tech my car. Just something that I am not use to. Even the track over this way looks at your car before you get on the track. I think that these things should be done for a safety purpose if nothing else. |

Yea I cant even act like I was cheating last year, YOU HAVE TO WIN A RACE OR TWO TO BE CALLED A CHEATER. But maybe I will get all these electronics dialed in this year to win some races. I dont mind people to think i'm cheating because that means I must be winning a few rounds.

Just to clear it up I did not call anyone a cheater or even say that there was anyone cheating. I said that I felt like there might have been some people running a delay box in the no box races. In fact I know that there was atleast one but I tried to say something as nice as I could. And it was not any of you so sound like there might some guilty consciences out there. I said something about safety so why are you guys not saying anything about that? |
