| I've been saying this for a long time, but if you tech bikes, there would only be maybe 4 of us that would pass. If it's a 600cc or bigger it's going to trap speeds that REQUIRE full leathers and a deadman switch. The full leathers would take out 3/4 of the class by itself. |

| I can'nt really say about bikes, but a deadman switch seems like a must, and Im sure there are good reasons. Danny I feel like you do, I have had really nervous times about going down the track w some cars. Remember we use to have a guy in our bracket who drank when he raced too. Your car is not an issue, we all come cause we love to race and none of us can afford to get hurt. Some safety rules would'nt hurt the track, might add to the car count, maybe because other tracks dont care!!! Look at Bracket I most all of them are safe, and II has alot of fast cars too.Loke I said if you can;t afford large/long studs (I have seen FAST cars w missing lug nuts),neutral safety switch and DS loop......you can't afford to race... |

It was said that teching the cars would delay things but the way I see it we sit around for about 2 hours waiting on the track to be prepped. To me this would give enough time for someone to tech the cars. Just my 2 cents worth.
P.S. sorry Chris I had to add more |

| When I started racing in 1994 I looked at Bracket I , even though I wasn't that fast and I wanted my car to meet those standards, Got a NHRA rule book and got legal..I feel safe in my car. I want to feel safe about the ones in the other lanes..you guys who have been to Tech know whats needed , maybe we need to get a list and post it for the new drivers to help them..with things needed for us all to race safely. |

| I agree, when I started racing we use to have to line up w tech cards cars on trailers get teched, checked then go park. How about a season tech, begining of ea season you get a tech card, get safety checked , pass it goes to tower and then were all done. New cars get it done then save card , it gets pulled when they return, new year , new tech. I'm talking about safety, not cheating, We all need safety. |

i said i agree on drive shaft loops and neutral safety switches..what i didnt agree on was complaining about the other driver not having his fire jacket on...thats his choice..not the other racers...if something happens to him..that is his fault...

| Agree Brian could tech the cars, and for safety stuff once a season would be fine, this is serious stuff , not a joke. It shouldn't wait until someone gets hurt or a car gets damaged to do it. FYI I care less if drivers wear shorts, firejackets or shoes its up to them, not my skin!! |

The deadman switch is the lanyard that attaches to the rider, so that if the rider falls off, it kills the fuel pump (if applicable) and ignition. Otherwise the bike continues until it falls over or strikes an object. On the newer bikes, they have a tilt switch so that if it falls over, the engine dies. The older bikes don't have that, so they fall over with the rear wheel spinning at some ungodly MPH which makes it dangerous for the track officials to approach the bike (which has actually happened at the track before). It's a $20 addition that can be made to any bike, fairly easy to do, but there are guys running 5.60's at Mobile without it.
The full leathers is obvious, no need to explain that one. |

| Gary doesn't want anything bad to happen there either, it's for everyones safety! I'm sure everyone racing can do a few things in a reasonable time, and Gary should'nt have to make anyone do them, they should be responsible enough to do it! |

| I think most of our cars that race here are legal because so many went to NHRA, that was a good thing proably only leaves a few that don't have everything and I'm sure the IHRA will tech for their races. So thats a good reason to get cars up to tech so when they want to go race they'll be ready, It is a positive thing. |
