IHRA Nitro Jam @ Baton Rouge produced the largest number of spectators to ever attend a Drag Race in Louisiana. Warren Saucier quilified #5 1st qualifying session & #10 on the 2nd session. Warren is tough up aganist all of those pipe racks. We know where Hammonds spent his Saturday. G
G IHRA puts on a great race! We actually qualified #2 after the first session and qualified #5 after the second session (IHRA qualifying is best package)going into round 1 with lane choice and winning Saturday night elimination round however Sunday morning went RED early and would have been down to 5 cars and like usual my opponent was .032 and i was -.004 not that it makes you feel any better about beating yourself. Anyway did find out a few things we need to know for future races and got my IHRA chassis cert for 3 years, they were going to issue a waiver for the race and honor the NHRA certs but for $75 got a 3 yr cert that is half what NHRA charges. Another interesting fact is IHRA offers a ATI card (annual tech inspection) once they tech your car the first time you fill out an ATI card with the same information SFI #'s ect and any IHRA race you attend for that year you just show up and give the tech official your card and you are good to go no more waiting in line and its free of charge they also put a ATI sticker on your chassis. I really enjoyed the National Event format and I look forward to their divisional meets and bracket finals. I hope the rest of the Mobile Dragway Nation will experience what is out there and see you made a good move for our track as a whole!
